| Ander is located in the mountainous countryside of Northern Spain. A farmer called Ander leads a rather monotonous life taking care of the farm as well his elderly mother. Then, an accident forces him to hire help for the farm work. The newcomer arouses certain feelings in Ander and, suddenly, life in the backlands of the Basque Country isn't quite the same anymore.

| The film A Lake (Un lac) is set around an isolated lake, surrounded by deep forest and snow, somewhere in the north. A family lives in a small village, and the son, a lumberjack, feels closely connected to nature as well as to his sister. The symbiotic relationship between the siblings is broken, however, when a stranger arrives into the village.

Varga | | Katalin Varga is a story of a Romanian woman, left by her husband, travelling across the Transylvanian mountains. The film beautifully depicts the rugged hilly landscapes and blooming fields. Yet, Katalin's journey is leading her to the roots of a past trauma, and will not be an easy one.

Urville | | German documentary feature Urville is building a utopia of the best possible surroundings for people to live in. The ideal life is tracked, for instance, in sympathetic French villages. There, everyone knows one another, crime is low, and good food and drink is enough to make the people happy. |
