The 5½ hour special screening of Carlos on Sat 28.8. in Kino Tapiola is now fully booked. The film is likely to premiere later in movie theatres in Finland, but only as the shorter, approx. two hour long version.

Fatih Akin, Soul Kitchen | | Fatih Akın has cancelled his visit to Finland
Unfortunately Fatih Akin, director of Espoo Ciné's opening film, Soul Kitchen, has had to cancel his visit to Finland due to scheduling difficulties relating to the production of his new film. Therefore, Akin will not be presenting his film in the screenings of Soul Kitchen Fri 20.8.

Sara Johnsen, Upperdog | | Two new Norwegian films in the Espoo Ciné programme!
Two new Norwegian films have been booked into this year's festival programme: Sara Johnsen's drama-comedy Upperdog and Hans Petter Moland's En ganske snill mann (A Somewhat Gentle Man). Upperdog is screened instead of El mal ajeno (For the Good of Others), which has been cancelled, at the same times (apart from the screening on Fri 27.8., when instead of El mal ajeno Same Same but Different by Buck is screened). En ganske snill mann is shown instead of Copie conforme (Certified Copy), which has also been cancelled, at the same times. Tickets bought for the El mal ajeno (For the Good of Others) and Copie conformen (Certified Copy) are valid without exchanging to the the replacing films.
If, however, you would like to exchange tickets bought for El mal ajeno (For the Good of Others) or Copie conforme (Certified Copy) for some other screening, please contact our box office (boxoffice(at)espoocine.fi or 09 8165 7215) during the box office opening hours (before the festival daily 12.00–18.00, and during the festival (from Fri 20.8. onwards) opening half an hour before the first screening of the day and closing as the last screening of the day commences).

We regret to inform festivalgoers that Abbas Kiarostam's Copie confrome (Certified Copy) has been cancelled for reasons relating to film copy transportations. Replacing the film will be Hans Petter Moland's En ganske snill mann (A Somewhat Gentle Man), starring Stellan Skarsgård. Tickets bought for Copie conforme are valid without exchanging for En ganske snill man screening at the same time.
If, however, you would like to exchange tickets bought for El mal ajeno (For the Good of Others) or Copie conforme (Certified Copy) for some other screening, please contact our box office (boxoffice(at)espoocine.fi or 09 8165 7215) during the box office opening hours (before the festival daily 12.00–18.00, and during the festival (from Fri 20.8. onwards) opening half an hour before the first screening of the day and closing as the last screening of the day commences).

Buck, Same Same but Different | | Screenings of El mal ajeno (For the Good of Others) have been cancelled
All screenings of Óskar Santos' El mal ajeno (For the Good of Others) have unfortunately been cancelled due to reasons external to the festival.
Replacing the film on Fri 27.8. at 15.00. in Kino Tapiola is Same Same but Different by Buck. Other screening slots of the film (Mon 23.8. at 15.45 Kino Tapiola & Sat 28.8. 12.45 Bio Rex Sello 2) will be replaced by Sara Johnsen's Upperdog.
If you have bought tickets for the screening, you will be contacted by our box office. You can also contact the box office (boxoffice(at)espoocine.fi or 09 8165 7215) to exchange your tickets. The tickets bought for El mal ajeno are valid for Upperdog screening at the same time. However, you can also exchange your tickets for another film.
