Conservative Laestadian girl Maria grows tired of the old patriarchs of her agrarian home village and heads to the capital for a taste of the forbidden fruit accompanied by Raakel, her devout chaperone. The fresh and humoristic film portrays youth and the passage into adulthood in a touchingly beautiful, even delicately erotic way.
