Richard Laxton
Englishman in New York, An
Sting’s hit song, "Englishman in New York", tells the story of the famous, openly gay Brit, Quentin Crisp, who was never lost for words. Over 70-year-old Crisp (John Hurt) moved to New York in the early 80s at the outbreak of the AIDS epidemic. This disarming film full of some serious British wit is a touching portrayal of the ups and downs of the life of the uncompromising dandy.
